Several weeks before today's match, Vince McMahon defeated Triple H for the WWF Championship. A few days later on Raw, McMahon declared the title vacant and announced the first ever six pack challenge match for the 2nd annual Unforgiven, 9 years ago today. The premise was simple, two men kick off the match, anyone can tag anyone and the first person to make a pinfall or submission, is the new WWF champ. He also decreed that Stonecold Steve Austin would be the special guest referee, due to the WWF officials being on strike.
